Below are the detailed guidelines and requirements for applicants interested in the Cyfed Undergraduate Scholarship (CUS) or the Cyfed-Bradley Hope Undergraduate Scholarship (CBH).

OCI Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships – Application Period

The application window for the 2024 OCI Foundation scholarships will open on February 22nd, 2024, starting at midnight, and close on April 26th, 2024, at midnight. All times mentioned are based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Application Document Requirements

To ensure a smooth application process, applicants are required to prepare and submit the following documents separately via email. You can get the email address on their website. Here are the document requirements:

1. FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS:

  1. Valid Identification: Applicants must provide a government-issued identity document, such as an International Travel Passport, Voter’s Card, National Identity Card, or Driver’s License. For those under 18 without access to a government ID, a birth certificate is acceptable.
  2. School Endorsement: An official letter from the applicant’s school (Head of Department) is required, containing full name, gender, matriculation number, course title and level, department of study, and a provisional admission letter for newly matriculated scholars.
  3. Certified Copies: Applicants must submit certified copies (by a qualified legal practitioner) of the following documents. Successful candidates will need to present the originals during the interview:
    • a) JAMB/UME result certificate
    • b) Senior Secondary School Exam Certificate (WASSCE or NECO)
    • c) Valid student ID for the host institution
    • d) Recent passport photograph
    • e) Letter of recognition from the Traditional Ruler of the applicant’s town, confirming the Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria.
    • f) A 500-word essay on “My Family.”

2. RENEWING APPLICANTS:

  1. School Endorsement: An official letter from the applicant’s school (Head of Department) is required, containing full name, gender, matriculation number, course title and level, department of study, and cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for the completed years.
  2. Result Statement: Applicants must provide an official statement of their result for the completed year(s).
  3. Change in Circumstances: If applicable, a letter detailing any changes in circumstances (e.g., change in department, withdrawal from school, etc.) should be included.
