Requirements to Create a Bumble Account

Unlike other dating apps that require verification documents, Bumble only needs a few basic requirements to create an account, such as:

  • A Facebook account or an Apple account.
  • A working phone number that can receive calls.

How to Create a Bumble Account

  1. Go to the Bumble website at www.bumble.com.
  2. Click on the “Join” button. You will be asked how you want to join the Bumble dating site. Either by using third-party services or your cell phone number to sign up.

To Sign Up Using the Third-Party Services:

  1. On the sign-up page, click on either the “Continue with Apple” or “Continue with Facebook” button.
  2. If you are not signed into any of these accounts, make sure that you are signed in.
  3. Give access to Bumble by clicking “Continue“.
  4. Then, continue with the onscreen instructions to create an account with the Bumble app.

To Sign Up With a Phone Number:

  1. On the sign-up page, click the “Use cell phone number” link. A slot where you can enter your number will appear.
  2. Select your country code.
  3. Type in your phone number.
  4. Click on the “Continue” button.
  5. Type in the captcha text to verify that you are not a bot and click submit.
  6. Click on the “call me” button. Then, Bumble will call the phone number that you inserted.
  7. Enter the last 6 digits of the number that called you. Then, tap on the “Continue” button.

Account Configuration

After you have finished creating an account on Bumble with these methods, then you can now proceed. Proceed to account configuration. Here’s how:

  • After you create an account, you will be taken to the upload photos page. This is where you upload a picture, and it is not optional.
  • To upload a photo, follow this:
    • You can drag and drop the picture on the page.
    • Or you can select the photo from your directory by clicking on the gallery icon.
    • Or you can use Facebook and Instagram to import pictures from the social media platform Bumble. You can do this by clicking on the Facebook or Instagram icon.

You are permitted to upload up to 5 maximum photos. However, if there is no photo on the social media platform, an error popup panel will appear. Click on the “Continue” button to leave the panel. Also, note that Bumble only accepts JPGs and PNGs of at least 500x500px.

  • When you are done uploading your photos, click on the “Continue” button.
  • Then click on the “Allow location access” button to give Bumble access to your location, so that they can use it to show potential dates or bees in your area. Wait for it to initiate. Then click on the “Continue” button and click on the “I agree” button to agree to their terms and conditions.
  • Then for the final step, choose if you are looking to make a new friend or to find a date by selecting bff or date respectively.

Change your mode

If you want to change your mind to change your mode, follow this:

  1. Click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on the settings button on the side panel.
  3. Click on “Choose mode”.
  4. Change your mode from BFF to date or date to BFF.

Adjust match age

If you only want to be seeing friends, dates, or bees at a certain range of age, you can edit by:

  1. Click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on the settings button on the side panel.
  3. Scroll down to the age section and slide the slider to select your preferred age range.

Add filters

If you are looking for a more specific type of match, you can add a filter to your account. Here’s how:

  1. Click on the profile icon.
  2. Click on the settings button on the side panel.
  3. Scroll down to the filter section.
  4. Click on advanced filters.
  5. Add your filters and tap on “apply filters” when you are done.

Also, if you seem to be getting matches on your Bumble app or site in a different location, you can fix this by tapping on location in the settings to refresh it.
